USA Today's Erik Brady Discusses "How I Covered (and Survived) the 2014 Olympics" on March 12

We are privileged and delighted to welcome legendary USA Today Sports Reporter (and BSC Board of Governors Member) Erik Brady back to the podium next Wednesday, March 12, for a very timely presentation of his experiences covering the Sochi Winter Olympics.

Erik Brady has worked at USA Today since the newspaper’s birth in 1982 and he has written more cover stories than anyone else in the history of the well-read national paper.

Erik lives in Arlington with his wife, Carol Stevens, who is communications chief at the American Bar Association. Their son Steve, winner of the Better Sports Club’s basketball sportsmanship award in 2003, is pursuing an MBA at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Their daughter Claire, who was a swimmer and hurdler at Yorktown, is an exercise physiologist in pulmonary rehabilitation at Fairfax Hospital.

Erik was elected to the BSC Board of Governors in 2011 and serves as chair of the Program Committee.  Last month, he covered Alpine skiing at the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to hear first-hand from a veteran sports journalist who has literally covered it all.

Please make your reservations by Monday, March 10 to Rick Schumann at or 703-241-0390.  Please specify your entree choice of the traditional St. Patrick's Day Corned Beef and Cabbage, Chicken, or Vegetarian Plate.

As always, the evening in the Columbus Club of Arlington's Paradise Ballroom (Lower Level) will begin with our Social Hour at 6:30 PM, followed by Dinner and Program at 7:15.  Admission is only $25 per person, plus an additional $5 for those who choose to partake of our generously-stocked Open Bar.

This is a great opportunity to show your friends and prospective new members the excellent programs and Arlington camaraderie that only the Better Sports Club has to offer.

Many thanks to Erik Brady for agreeing to share his experiences with us next Wednesday.  DON'T MISS IT!
